Pre order Wedding Plate

Pre order a custom wedding plate to celebrate your friends getting married. These plates are hand glazed by Katie with a colour of your choice and coated in a clear glossy glaze before being fired again in the kiln.

How it works

Once you have ordered the plate you will need to reply to your confirmation email with the following details

• When you need this plate by - Katie needs at least two weeks notice from the day that she receives all of the details for the plate to the day she sends it to you. We recommend giving yourself 3 weeks to account for postage time,
•  to be on the safe side. If you need it sooner please email Katie first hello.pottery.place@gmail.com to see if this is possible (often it will be).
• What you would like on your custom plate - wording, dates, incorporating simple illustrations/ meaningful things for the couple. If you have no idea, you can always send Katie a photo of the wedding invite or wedding website and Katie can come up with something. There is only so much Katie can fit on these plates, she recommends 5 'lines' of words maximum.
• What colour glaze you would like your plate to be painted with - please see photo for your different colour options. If you would like more than one colour, this is possible but it does cost extra ($15/ extra colour).

These plates are handmade by Katie, they are not perfect, the rim can sometimes be a bit wonky, the thickness can vary slightly but this is the nature of buying something handmade. Katie would describe herself as an amateur calligrapher and illustrator. Her letters and designs will not look like they have been done by a sign writer. We believe these imperfections are what gives these platters charm and makes them extra special.

By ordering a platter you give Katie permission to post a photo of this platter to her social media/ put it on her website. Don't worry though, she will not do this until after the date of the wedding.

FAQ

• How big are they? Approximately 24cm-28cm accross
• Are they food safe? Yes! they couple can use them as a platter and even put it in the dishwasher or they can hang the platter on their wall as a reminder of their wedding day
• How much time do you need to finish it? Katie needs two weeks from the time that you give her all the information for the platter to the date that she posts it, we recommend 3 weeks to account for postage time
• Can i customise the size/ shape of the platter? No, Katie has premade these platters already so is unable to change their forms.
• Can i order a custom plate that is not for a wedding? Yes absolutely, people have ordered them as birthday plates for their kids or gifts for friends.
