Ceramic cake making workshop - February 22nd

Katie invites you into her pottery studio to create a piece of pottery and decorate it like a cake. She will show you different techniques on how you can make an object out of clay and then you will get to decorate it using clay in piping bags. 

Things you could make;

• Small planter (as shown in the photo)
• 2x small bowl ring dishes
• Slice of cake
• Soap dish
• Vase

Your piece/s will be fired twice in the kiln, ready to collect 4-6 weeks later.

This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.

All of Katie's workshops are hand building classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. This means that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without having to practice for weeks on the wheel first.

This workshop is suitable for ages 12+

When? Saturday February 22nd, 10am-1pm

Where? Katie's pottery studio, located inside the Kaiapoi Mill, 35 Ranfurly Street, Kaiapoi.

What to bring? An apron if you have one.

Sometimes pottery cracks in the kiln, this rarely happens but unfortunately it is a part of making pottery, if this happens we are not able to refund you. The best part of the workshop is the workshop itself and learning a new skill.
