As Autumn approaches Katie invites you into her studio to learn how to sculpt ceramic mushrooms out of clay. During this workshop you will each make 3-5 small ceramic mushrooms, ranging in size from 10cm-3cm. You will also learn how to use ceramic glazes to glaze your mushrooms. These mushrooms will look super cute on a book shelf or outside in your garden.
Katie will fire and glaze your pieces in her kiln. Your mushrooms will be ready to collect again in 4-6 weeks time.
We will be using a hand building technique called pinching, for this technique it is best if you have short nails.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.
All of Katie's classes are handbuilding classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. Techniques used in these classes mean that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without the need for practicing on a wheel
This workshop is suitable for ages 12+
When? Saturday March 28th, 10am-1pm
Where? Katie's pottery studio located inside the Kaiapoi Mill, 35 Ranfurly Street, Kaiapoi.

Sometimes pottery can crack in the kiln, if this happens to your bowls unfortunately we can not offer a refund for the class. The best part of the experience is the class itself.
