Katie invites you into her pottery studio to create a piece of pottery and decorate it like a cake. You will make a cylinder out of clay and then decorate it using clay in piping bags to make it look like a cake. You can use your creation as a vase, planter, to hold make up brushes, toothbrushes, pens etc. Your ceramic cake will be approx 10-12cm tall.
Your piece will be fired twice in the kiln, ready to collect 4-6 weeks later.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.
All of Katie's workshops are hand building classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. This means that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without having to practice for weeks on the wheel first.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12+
When? Saturday June 28th, 10am-1pm
Where? Katie's pottery studio, located inside the Kaiapoi Mill, 35 Ranfurly Street, Kaiapoi.

Sometimes pottery cracks in the kiln, this rarely happens but unfortunately it is a part of making pottery, if this happens we are not able to refund you. The best part of the workshop is the workshop itself and learning a new skill.
