Please note that because spaces are limited, once you have booked your spot we are not able to refund you.
Katie invites you into her studio to learn how to create a butter dish out of clay. This dish will be the perfect addition to your kitchen bench.
Katie will teach you how to use slab building techniques to build your very own butter dish (base and cloche) using a template. The second part of the workshop you will add your own unique details onto your butter dish and choose a glaze colour for your dish.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.
Please note that your butter dish will not fit a whole block of butter inside it.
The pottery you make in this workshop will be ready to collect in 4-6 weeks time.
All of Katie's workshops are hand building classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. This means that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without having to practice for weeks on the wheel first.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12+
When? Saturday, April 25th, 10am-1pm
Where? Katie's pottery studio, located inside the Kaiapoi Mill, 35 Ranfurly Street, Kaiapoi.
What to bring? An apron if you have one.
Please note that because spaces are limited once you have booked there are no refunds, unless we can find someone else to take your spot. please consider gifting your spot to a friend if you can no longer make it.
You will get an email closer to the date with more information.
Sometimes pottery cracks in the kiln, this rarely happens but unfortunately it is a part of making pottery, if this happens we are not able to refund you. The best part of the workshop is the workshop itself and learning a new skill.
