Katie invites you into her studio to learn how to hand build pottery plates out of clay, emboss with flowers and foliage as well as glaze with colours. Your dishes will also get a coat of clear glossy glaze and be fired twice in the kiln. A piece of art you get to keep forever!
During this workshop you will choose to make either one large plate approx 30cm diameter or make multiple smaller plates.
Katie will have herbal tea for you to sip on while you get creative with your floral designs. You are encouraged to bring along some of your own flowers and foliage from your garden, to make your dishes even more special.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.
All of Katie's classes are handbuilding classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. Techniques used in these classes mean that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without the need for practicing on a wheel
The dishes you make in this workshop will be ready to collect in 4-6 weeks time.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12+
