Make a set of nesting bowls - April 12th

Katie invites you into her studio to learn how to make a set of 5 small nesting bowls with the largest bowl being approx. 14cm wide. Nesting bowls are bowls that fit easily inside each other. 

Katie will fire and glaze your pieces in her kiln, to be picked up at a later date (usually at least 4 weeks after the workshop).

If you would like to glaze your pieces with colourful underglazes you can book an extra glazing session, Katie will talk to you about a date for this closer to the time.

We will be using a hand building technique called pinching, for this technique it is best if you have shorter nails.

This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed studio environment. Katie loves to encourage creativity and no two pieces made in her class are the same.

All of Katie's classes are handbuilding classes, which means they are not on the pottery wheel. Techniques used in these classes mean that you are able to make pottery of a higher standard without the need for practicing on a wheel

This workshop is suitable for ages 12+

When? Wednesday April 12th, 6.30pm-8.30pm

Where? The Pottery Place located inside the Kaiapoi Mill, 35 Ranfurly Street, Kaiapoi.

What to bring? An apron if you have one.
